Money Portal was founded in 2001 with the vision to create a financial services group to challenge the market. It has grown primarily through acquisition. This included the original Bates business. The most significant acquisition to date in terms of scale was in July 2006, when the assets of Millfield Partnership Limited and the entire share capital of Sage Financial Services were acquired.

Since our Bates and Millfield advisers shared the same values, high standards and structures, Money Portal have bought them together under the Bates brand..

Today Money Portal is a major established business. Run by a highly experienced and reputable senior management team with a clear and focused strategy. A significant distributor of financial services products, and the service provider to one of the largest affiliated groups of advisers in the UK.
